Lilo & Stitch, the live-action version of Disney’s beloved children’s film, is now available to buy or rent from Prime Video and Apple TV+.
A record-breaking success, Lilo & Stitch recently became the first Hollywood movie of 2025 to surpass $1 billion at the box office (via The Hollywood Reporter), and it’s also won rave reviews.
Currently, the movie holds a respectable rating of 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising it as “sweet” and “jovial”.
“It’s a sweet, funny, simple story with a cute central duo and modest scale (thanks to a smaller-than-typical budget). It turns out to be an excellent candidate for a do-over, able to establish a personality of its own without the original looming over it,” wrote Time Out.
“It’s jovial, zany, and sweet, and it recreates its adorable title alien via CGI (and a Sanders voice performance) with pitch-perfect accuracy,” added The Daily Beast.

“Here, ‘ohana’ doesn’t just mean family but community, and the film does moving and spirited work in showcasing how crucial it is for us to lift each other up,” noted Slant Magazine.
Alongside Chris Sanders, who reprises his role as the voice of Stitch, the film also stars Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Hill and more.
Like the 2002 comedy-drama, the film follows Lilo (Kealoha), a six-year-old girl who, after losing her parents, finds herself lonelier than ever while in the custody of her older sister Nani (Agudong).

When her neighbour Tūtū (Hill) suggests that she rescue a dog from the local animal shelter, Lilo adopts Stitch, who, unbeknownst to her, is actually an alien on the run from the United Galactic Federation. As Lilo and Stitch become friends, what unfolds is a hilarious and heartwarming tale of found family.
Following the film’s success, Disney has confirmed that a sequel to the live-action film is currently in development (via Deadline), although details are being kept under wraps.
